The Markham Park District is governed by five elected commissioners who establish policies which represent the recreational needs of the residents of Markham. Each commissioner is elected to an unpaid term of 6 years.

The Markham Park District Board of Commissioners holds regular meetings the second Tuesday of the month at 6:30 PM at the Markham City Hall, located at 16313 Kedzie Parkway, in the old Council Chambers room.
